What a local cause does
A sponsor puts up the money. A local organization runs the campaign. Residents visit local businesses, and as they do, they choose which causes the sponsor's money goes to. If they choose you, the sponsor pays you directly.
What we need from you
Write a sentence about what you do. Residents read it when they choose.
Give us the address payments should go to.
What you are never asked to do
Fundraise, or bring your own donors
Run an event or staff a table
Pay anything to take part
Collect or process donations yourself
Compete against the other causes
Causes are listed alphabetically in the participant app. GivePass does not rank them, feature them, or steer residents toward any one of them.
Before you say yes
This is the part most programs bury, so it is going here instead. Taking part costs you nothing, and that means there is nothing to lose — but there is also nothing guaranteed, and a number you count on early is the one that hurts.
How much will we receive?
Nobody can tell you in advance, including us. Residents unlock contributions by visiting local businesses and direct them to the causes they choose. Your amount depends on how the campaign performs and how many residents choose you.
Is the campaign total a promise?
No. The figure a sponsor commits is a maximum for the whole campaign, not a pledge to any one cause. Whatever residents do not unlock is not owed, and is not paid out.
When is our amount final?
At settlement, when the campaign closes. Until then every figure you see is provisional, including the ones in the app.
Who actually pays us?
The sponsor pays you directly. GivePass never holds the money and never takes a share of it — our fee is paid separately by whoever runs the campaign.
Causes are usually recruited by the local organization running the campaign, not by GivePass. If one has approached you and you want to check what you are being asked to join, that is what this page is for.
