These terms govern use of the GivePass platform by sponsors, community organizations, participating businesses, and participants. GivePass is operated by SKM Digital. By using the platform you agree to these terms.
What GivePass does. GivePass records visits to participating local businesses and turns them into sponsor-funded contributions to community causes. A participant scans a sign at a participating business. That visit counts toward a campaign total that a sponsor has agreed to fund.
No purchase requirement. Participation in a GivePass campaign never requires a purchase, and no donation amount is ever tied to what a participant spent. The platform does not read point-of-sale systems and does not receive transaction amounts.
Sponsor commitments. A sponsor's financial commitment for a campaign is capped at the amount they fund. GivePass does not take custody of charitable funds and is not a payment processor. A sponsor pays participating causes directly against a settlement record GivePass produces at the end of a campaign period.
Business participation. A participating business is never required to offer a discount, integrate with a point-of-sale system, add a step at checkout, or pay a participation fee.
Campaign operation. A campaign is set up and run by a community organization acting as its operator. That operator decides which businesses and causes take part and is responsible for the accuracy of what it publishes about its own campaign. Figures shown on this website are illustrative examples, not customer results.
Acceptable use. Do not attempt to record visits that did not happen, interfere with another participant's passport, or attempt to gain access to accounts or data that are not yours. We may suspend access that appears to be abusing a campaign, and we may void visit records that appear fraudulent before a campaign settles.
Availability. The platform is provided as it is, without a guaranteed level of availability. We do not promise uninterrupted service, and a specific commitment on availability or support applies only where a separate written agreement says so.
Your content and ours. Campaign operators, businesses, and causes keep ownership of the names, logos, and descriptions they provide, and grant us permission to display them for the purpose of running their campaign. The GivePass name, the software, and the site itself remain ours.
Ending participation. A participant may stop using a passport at any time. A campaign operator, business, or cause may end its participation in a campaign by telling us, subject to any separate written agreement covering an in-flight campaign period.
Governing law. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Connecticut, without regard to its conflict of law rules.
Changes to these terms. We will post updates to this page and change the effective date above. Continued use after an update means the updated terms apply.
